About The Event
The Food Pantry Golf Outing started in 2006 by a group of local residents who wanted to get one last round of golf in as the summer ended. We thought, "Why not raise some money for a local charity?" That first year, with 24 golfers, we raised $1800 for the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry.
We have grown to 144 golfers and have sold out the last two years in a row. Register early to make sure you have a spot. In 2023 we raised over $28,000 for the Food Pantry.
We are also pleased with our fundraising efficiency, which allows 100% of the monetary donations we receive to go directly to the Food Pantry.
Our vision is to establish the golf outing as a self-sustaining event that will provide support to the Algonquin-Lake in The Hills Interfaith Food Pantry for years to come. We are asking for your help in realizing that vision.
The format is a "5 Hole Random Best Ball". After choosing the best tee-shot of the foursome, each player plays their ball to completion (picking up at 8 strokes). The best score for the hole becomes the foursome's score. Scores are reported after the round. 5 holes are picked at random. Best score for those five holes becomes the outing champions. In case of ties, additional holes will be selected one at a time, until a winner is determined. If tied after 18, then co-champions will be announced, and prizes will be awarded at a later date.
